Niyam IT is seeking a Database Architect/Engineer to design, secure, and optimize NoSQL and relational databases, with strong MongoDB expertise and automation skills. This role supports government missions and requires collaboration across engineering and security teams.

Competenze

• US Citizenship with ability to complete a federal background investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/SE or related field (equivalent practical experience may be considered).
• 5–7 years of database administration/engineering experience, incl. 3+ years designing and administering MongoDB.
• Strong MongoDB knowledge: replica sets, sharding, storage engines, transactions.
• Experience with SQL development and performance troubleshooting across NoSQL and relational databases.
• Scripting: Python, Bash or PowerShell; familiarity with TLS/SSL, Kerberos/LDAP, auditing, and hardening.
• Experience administering Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS).

Mansioni

• Design and document database schemas and data models for NoSQL and relational databases.
• Administer, configure, and maintain MongoDB environments with HA.
• Support relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle) interfacing with apps.
• Tune performance, analyze execution plans, optimize queries and indexes.
• Implement data security controls: RBAC, encryption, auditing, and compliance with DHS/CISA controls.
• Develop backup, recovery, and DR strategies for distributed databases.
• Automate deployments and maintenance using Python, Bash, and IaC tools.
• Collaborate in Agile teams with developers, cloud engineers, and stakeholders.
