Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Database Administrator for remote work within the United States. You will administer, secure, monitor, and improve production database environments, and implement upgrades while ensuring compliant access and ongoing performance.

The role requires 3+ years of directly related experience, a relevant degree, and certifications. Visa sponsorship is not provided, and candidates must be US-authorized to work.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of directly related technical experience.
• Experience documenting technical requirements, configurations, tests, changes, and results.
• Experience in government, regulated, or security-conscious environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, secure, monitor, and optimize production databases and database management systems, and plan and implement approved upgrades.
• Manage database users, roles, and access levels in accordance with security and data-protection requirements.
• Test database changes and applications, troubleshoot errors, and implement or coordinate approved corrections.
• Design and maintain logical and physical database descriptions, data models, and data-dictionary definitions.
• Monitor performance and capacity, recommend hardware, software, or configuration changes, and coordinate installations and changes to minimize service disruption.
• Develop database standards, procedures, and safeguards for sensitive information; provide technical guidance and training to users, junior staff, programmers, and analysts.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
