Job summary

BMA is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team in a remote position. You will administer databases, design and maintain complex DBs, and ensure performance, security, and data integrity in a client/server environment.

Required: hands-on SQL/RDBMS, OS experience, and security-oriented mindset; DoD IAT II certs preferred. Knowledge of cloud databases (AWS/Azure/GC) and RMAN backup/recovery a plus. Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with database query languages (Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server, MS Access)
• 3+ years hands-on with an RDBMS
• Experience with Windows, Unix, Linux OSes and cloud databases
• Experience with programming languages (SQL, C, C++, Java, Python, etc.)
• Knowledge of database performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Backup, recovery and DR planning experience (RMAN)
• Security: encryption, RBAC, auditing, data masking
• Familiarity with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud database services

Responsibilities

• Administer databases in a client/server environment

• Monitor standards, performance and security of databases
• Advise users on DB access and usage
• Support system design and database programming tasks
• Collaborate on projects across IS to meet long-range DB requirements
