Job summary

Tactibit Technologies is seeking a Data Technician to support mission-critical data handling for environmental and scientific datasets gathered from Earth orbiting satellites. This remote role involves designing data tools, processing large-scale data, and ensuring data integrity across the software lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement data management best practices, and contribute to metrics reporting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise data management experience.
• Experience with GIS data.
• Strong understanding of data management processes and technologies.
• Experience using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Java, PowerShell, Ruby, etc.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to pass a full background investigation and obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, deploy, and document new data management tools and techniques.
• Manage large-scale data sets from modern ground systems and applications.
• Support data management processing including data migration, backup, and recovery.
• Provide reporting metrics to management and customers.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure sound data management practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
