Job summary

National Veterinary Associates is seeking a Data Stewardship & Governance Lead to manage the enterprise data catalog and define governance standards across the organization. You will collaborate with data stewards, owners, and product teams to ensure data definitions, classifications, and metadata are accurate and current.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data governance or related field within a large enterprise.
• Hands-on experience with data catalogs and governance platforms.
• Ability to implement governance standards across multiple departments.
• Strong collaboration across data stewards, owners, and product teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the enterprise data catalog in Purview, including definitions and metadata.
• Coordinate with data stewards and owners to ensure accountability and governance adherence.
• Plan and facilitate Data Governance Committee meetings and capture decisions.
• Track changes to data definitions and policies and inform stakeholders.
• Champion data governance across the organization and escalate non-compliance.
• Develop governance policies and training materials for onboarding and ongoing use.
• Conduct data quality assessments and drive remediation with stakeholders.
• Partner with IT and Analytics to optimize Purview configurations for lineage and access controls.
• Report program health, coverage, and glossary completion to leadership.
