Job summary

National Veterinary Associates is seeking a Data Governance Director to lead the enterprise data governance strategy, operating model, and standards across its 1,000 hospitals and corporate functions. This role chairs the Data Governance Council, partners with Legal and Compliance, and builds a network of data stewards to ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years in data management or governance with leadership experience.
• Proven ability to build scalable governance programs and councils.
• Hands-on with Purview, Collibra or Alation and cloud data platforms.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior leaders.
• Ability to translate governance concepts into practical plans.

Responsibilities

• Own and mature the enterprise data governance framework and standards.
• Build an enterprise network of data stewards and owners across the org.
• Direct governance across data product lifecycle from ingestion to reporting.
• Define and manage data quality metrics, KPIs, and governance tools.
• Chair the Data Governance Council with senior stakeholders.
• Lead data literacy and enablement to drive governance adoption.
