Job summary

Brown and Caldwell, a leading environmental engineering firm based in Walnut Creek, CA, seeks a Data Scientist to design, build, and deploy advanced analytics and ML models for water and environmental challenges. You will contribute to AI/ML initiatives, geospatial analyses, and cloud-based apps for internal and client use.

Responsibilities include model development, data visualization, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering or related field; Master preferred.
• 2+ years in Data Science; SMS framework knowledge beneficial.
• Strong Python, SQL, and ML model development experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex data analyses and model building.
• Develop AI applications, retrieval systems, and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data needs.
• Present findings to stakeholders and support client presentations.
• Follow software engineering and version control best practices.
• Monitor industry trends in ML for water/environmental applications.
• Mentor teammates and share knowledge as needed.
