Job summary

LMI is seeking a Data Scientist – Journeyman to support Army ammunition planning through data-driven analytics and ML models. You will develop and refine forecasting, maintain Vantage-based dashboards, and contribute to workflows that improve distribution efficiency and readiness.

You will collaborate with logisticians and stakeholders, implement reproducible pipelines in Python/SQL, and communicate insights to leadership. A SECRET clearance is required for US Citizens.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in data science or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in data science or analytics.
• Experience with Python and SQL for data preparation, analysis, and modeling.
• Experience building regression, time series, or classification models.
• Ability to translate business questions into analytical problems and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support forecasting and analytics model development for ammunition consumption and resupply.
• Maintain and enhance Vantage-based dashboards and data products.
• Assist in integrating data into Vantage pipelines for centralized munitions data.
• Conduct descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics on historical data.
• Document model logic and maintain reproducible analytical workflows.
• Prepare visualizations and summaries for leadership decisions.
