Job summary

K2Share is seeking a Data Protection / DLP Analyst to support a federal health sector client. You will operate Data Loss Prevention tools and processes to protect sensitive client information across enterprise systems, helping prevent unauthorized disclosure and strengthen policy enforcement.

This remote-first position includes periodic on-site support in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and is contingent upon contract award.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on data protection or DLP operations experience.
• Experience with enterprise DLP platforms (Purview, Forcepoint, Symantec, Trellix) and data classification practices.
• Knowledge of PII, PHI, and CUI handling requirements and data classification practices.
• Familiarity with federal privacy requirements and HIPAA considerations in a federal environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate DLP tools to protect sensitive information across data in use, in transit, and at rest.
• Define, discover, and protect sensitive information across storage and usage contexts.
• Prevent exfiltration through network gateways and endpoints while maintaining visibility into encrypted traffic.
• Provide automated policy enforcement to safeguard data and support privacy requirements.
• Validate discovery of sensitive information in repositories like SharePoint, drives, and databases.
• Deploy DLP agents on endpoints that regularly handle sensitive data and track deployments.
• Analyze DLP alerts, tune rules to reduce noise, and escalate incidents with full context.
• Contribute to DLP policy enforcement documentation and sensitive-data discovery results.
