Worldwide Events Group is seeking a Data Protection & AI Governance Consultant to independently review current approaches and establish practical governance for a global business. The role focuses on making expertise accessible, with clear guardrails for teams using data, technology and AI, including Microsoft 365 and Copilot.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant data protection/privacy qualification with substantial practical experience.
• Expertise in data protection and privacy governance with ability to assess and recommend.
• Experience working with global, international organisations and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent current-state assessment of data protection and AI governance.
• Complete gap assessment and remediation plan prioritising legal, practice, and controls.
• Review policies, procedures, privacy docs, tools register, DPIA approach and simplify where needed.
• Analyze governance in practice across the business and reduce unnecessary complexity.
• Establish practical AI governance for third-party tech, Microsoft 365, Copilot, and in-house AI agents.
• Provide independent conclusions on DPO requirements and governance model.
