First Citizens Bank is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Platform Engineering Organization and help build scalable cloud-based data solutions that enable analytics and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

This is a remote role with priority for Raleigh, NC, Phoenix, AZ and Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and work with AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python and SQL to deliver reliable data pipelines and data products across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field with 1 year experience.
• Alternative: High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent with 5 years' experience.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and big data technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions utilizing AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL, and related technologies.
• Implement data warehouse solutions, dimensional data models, and ETL/ELT processes to support reporting and analytics.
• Implement data quality validations, test cases, and controls to ensure accurate, consistent data assets.
• Develop and maintain data tests, including dbt tests, to support data quality.
• Support workflow orchestration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production operations using Airflow.
• Collaborate with business users, product partners, analysts, and technology teams to deliver data solutions.
• Follow engineering standards, documentation, and testing procedures for high-quality delivery.
• Participate in pipeline deployments and CI/CD processes.
