GDT - General Datatech is seeking a Solutions Architect to own the end-to-end design of a cross-plat­form data platform, while staying hands-on. This remote, full-time role involves travel to Birmingham, AL.

You will lead ingestion, storage, modeling, governance, and AI-enabled tooling for a multi-site business. Ideal candidates have 8+ years in data/ platform architecture with strong SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, and Kubernetes experience, plus production-grade Python or Go skills and

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or platform architecture.
• Hands-on with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSAS, and Azure Data Factory.
• Production experience with ClickHouse or similar columnar engine.
• Proficient in Python or Go for backend development.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and Kubernetes.
• Fluent in AI-assisted engineering and responsible AI practices.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into durable designs.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data platform architecture: ingestion to governance.
• Set direction for analytical layer on SQL Server, SSAS, ClickHouse; integrate with Azure Data Factory, APIs, NATS, CDC.
• Design and operate event-driven workloads on Kubernetes using Go and Python.
• Advance AI-driven development with agents and tooling to improve quality and speed.
• Define data contracts, schemas, and quality SLAs for teams.
• Embed PII/PHI handling, access control, and auditability in the platform.
• Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, align work with executive intent.
