Job summary

HCRG Care Group is seeking a Data Migration Lead to manage the end-to-end delivery of data migration projects within healthcare, coordinating internal teams and external suppliers to transfer patient records safely, accurately and on time.

This predominantly remote role offers exposure to a range of clinical systems and requires strong project management, data governance, and NHS-style regulatory awareness, with occasional UK travel and expenses covered.

Qualifications

• recognised Project Management qualification or extensive project management experience (minimum five years), ideally within healthcare, technology or large-scale data migration projects.
• A technical qualification or at least two years' relevant experience in data management, SQL Server, database engineering or a similar discipline.
• Proven experience of managing complex projects involving the movement, migration or transformation of data between systems.
• A sound understanding of information governance, data protection and the management of sensitive information.
• Experience working with healthcare information systems or Electronic Patient Record systems (e.g., TPP SystmOne, EMIS Web).
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and coordinating data migration projects, developing detailed project plans, timelines and deliverables.
• Managing the safe transfer and transformation of patient records between EPR systems, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Building relationships with internal programme teams, external organisations and system suppliers.
• Coordinating data extraction, transformation, testing and migration activities with clear responsibilities and deadlines.
• Identifying and escalating project risks, issues and dependencies with RAID logs and decision records.
• Ensuring data migrations meet regulatory, security and patient safety requirements with IG colleagues.
• Supporting data validation and testing activities and collaborating with technical teams.
• Providing regular progress updates and presentations to programme boards and senior stakeholders.
• Contributing to planning of new healthcare service mobilisations and data migration requirements.
