Job summary

Imagineeer is seeking an experienced Data Architect / Data Analyst to support a DHHS OCIO migration into a new HR IT platform. The role combines strong data engineering with federal system familiarity to ensure secure, compliant data migration and optimized HR processes across the department.

Responsibilities include inventorying legacy data, validating quality, mapping data dependencies, and creating migration plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/IT/Data Science or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Engineer and in data migration, especially with legacy systems and cloud environments.
• Proficiency with data migration tools and ETL processes (Talend, Informatica, SSIS).
• Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, SQL, PowerShell) for data transformation and automation.
• Familiarity with indexing and data accessibility in applications.

Responsibilities

• Assess and inventory existing legacy data stores and drives.
• Assess data quality, completeness, and relevance for migration.
• Identify data dependencies, redundancies, and inconsistencies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to map data structures and formats for migration.
• Develop a data migration plan with steps, timelines, and resources.
• Plan testing of migrated data to ensure accuracy and integration.
• Create technical documentation for data migration processes and system configurations.
• Provide progress updates and validation reports on data quality.
