Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Data Infrastructure & Acquisition team in Charleston, SC, USA. You will build data ingestion pipelines and extend cloud infrastructure on GCP while collaborating with AI researchers to improve data quality for next‑generation models.

The role requires strong Bash/Python scripting, Docker and IaC with Terraform, and experience scaling data workflows within a distributed team environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts; experience with GCP.
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ingest and source new audio data for model training pipelines.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for the ingestion pipeline (GCP, Terraform).
• Collaborate with scientists to balance cost, throughput and data quality at scale.
• Define and contribute to the dataset roadmap for Speechify AI initiatives.
