Job summary

Speechify is hiring for its Data team to own data collection and dataset preparation to support model training. This role focuses on building high-quality datasets at scale by tightly integrating infrastructure, engineering, and research.

As a Software Engineer joining the data side, you will extend ingestion pipelines on GCP, manage Terraform-based infrastructure, and collaborate with scientists to improve throughput and data quality for next-generation products.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development.
• Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts, with experience on GCP.
• Experience with web crawlers or large-scale data processing workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be scrappy to find new sources of audio data and bring it into our ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for our ingestion pipeline on GCP using Terraform.
• Collaborate with Scientists to improve cost/throughput/quality for larger-scale data.
• Help shape the AI Team’s dataset roadmap for next-generation products.
