Job summary

Speechify is hiring for its Data team to own data collection for model training. You will build high-quality datasets at petabyte scale, integrating infrastructure, engineering and research.

As a Software Engineer, you will scrape sources, extend ingestion on GCP with Terraform, and collaborate with scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality for next-generation models.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency with bash and Python in Linux.
• Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code with at least one cloud provider (GCP).
• Experience with web crawlers or large-scale data workflows is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Source new audio data and feed it into the ingestion pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud ingestion infrastructure on GCP with Terraform.
• Collaborate with scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality, enabling bigger scale.
• Help define the AI team's dataset roadmap to power Speechify’s products.
