Job summary

CSC is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to support the enterprise data governance program within a federated operating model. You will partner with data owners, stewards, and technology teams to establish consistent governance practices, strengthen data ownership and accountability, improve metadata and data quality, and support privacy, retention, and risk requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• CDMP or equivalent data management certification.
• 3–5 years in data governance, data quality, metadata management, risk, or compliance.
• Experience applying GDPR/CCPA privacy laws in a corporate setting.
• Experience with governance/catalog tools (Informatica, Purview, Collibra, Alation).
• Proficient in SQL and DAMA-DMBOK principles.
• Familiarity with metadata mgmt, glossaries, catalogs, and data lineage.
• Strong stakeholder management and facilitation.
• Excellent communication (verbal/written/presentations).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to influence without direct authority.
• Strong organizational and project coordination.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maturation of the enterprise data governance framework.
• Develop and maintain data governance policies, standards, procedures, and operating models.
• Facilitate governance councils, stewardship forums, working groups, and governance meetings.
• Track governance initiatives, decisions, action items, risks, and remediation.
• Promote governance awareness and adoption across business and technology teams.
• Identify and document Data Owners and Business Data Stewards.
• Coordinate stewardship activities across data domains and functions.
• Clarify governance roles, responsibilities, and accountability.
• Monitor metadata completeness and governance compliance.
• Produce governance dashboards and executive summaries.
