Job summary

Independence Pet Holdings is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support and manage the technology platforms, tools, and processes that enable our Data Governance program. You will collaborate with Data Governance, Security, Engineering, Legal, and business stakeholders to support data cataloging, metadata management, MDM, privacy compliance, and data quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related field.
• Hands-on experience implementing and administering data catalog platforms.
• Experience building and operationalizing a Data Stewardship Program.
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, data cataloging, data lineage, and stewardship best practices.
• Experience supporting or administering Databricks Unity Catalog or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Master Data Management (MDM) solutions and data quality management.
• Ability to collaborate across Data Governance, Security, Engineering, Product, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support the enterprise Data Catalog in partnership with the Data Governance team.
• Lead the data catalog roadmap, including metadata collection, asset onboarding, data classification, glossary development, and data lineage documentation.
• Support and administer Databricks Unity Catalog, including data asset registration, metadata management, and access governance coordination.
• Partner with data owners, stewards, and engineering teams to improve data discoverability and governance adoption.
• Design, implement, and lead the Data Stewardship Program aligned with catalog deployment and governance objectives.
• Serve as the primary administrator and liaison for Osano, managing enhancements and compliance requests.
• Support Master Data Management (MDM) platforms, stewardship workflows, and data quality initiatives.
• Monitor adoption, governance metrics, and provide recommendations for improvements.
