Job summary

Suncoast Credit Union is seeking a Data Engineering Manager to lead the data engineering team while residing in Florida. You will oversee design, evaluation, and testing of robust data infrastructures and ensure high-quality member service.

You will guide Azure Data Factory pipelines, ETL tuning, and data profiling, while partnering with departments to implement best practices and drive Suncoast's data strategy forward. This role emphasizes collaboration, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, information technology, information systems, engineering, mathematics or a related field required.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible data engineering experience, preferably in financial institutions, with supervisory experience.
• Advanced technical skills including SQL DW, SSRS, PowerBI, and other data visualization software knowledge.
• Proficient knowledge of Azure or Apache Spark.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Delta Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks tools.
• Experience with Databricks Unity Catalog and writing Databricks notebooks.
• Understanding of Blob/Data Lake Storage and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the data engineering team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Oversee the Credit Union's data infrastructure to develop operational data pipelines.
• Guide the team in using Azure Data Factory to create pipelines and ETL processes.
• Supervise design and development of ETL to extract, transform, and load data.
• Prioritize tasks using Agile methodologies and complete ad hoc requests.
• Ensure data housekeeping, cleansing, normalization, and data model changes.
• Oversee deployment of data architectures to drive Suncoast's data strategy.
• Provide technical assistance to users and staff on data warehouse applications.
• Inform stakeholders on data warehouse applications and reporting services.
• Review and implement new methods to improve daily operations.
