Job summary

Joyce University is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines and a modern data warehouse that consolidates data from SIS, LMS, CRM, and third-party sources. You’ll enable accurate, secure, and analysis-ready data for operational decisions and strategic planning.

You will partner with university teams to translate reporting needs into reliable data solutions, support FERPA/GLBA compliance, and deliver data sources for Sigma, IPEDS reporting, accreditation, and dashboards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data science, or related field.
3+ years in building data pipelines or data warehouses in production.
Advanced SQL with performance tuning; Snowflake preferred.
Hands-on with at least one ETL tool (SSIS, ADF, dbt).
Knowledge of dimensional data modeling and data warehouse design.
Scripting in Python or PowerShell for automation.
Strong written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

Design, build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines from SIS, LMS, CRM and third-party sources.
Design and maintain the data warehouse with dimensional modeling.
Create curated datasets for enrollment, retention, course success, financial aid and finance.
Monitor pipelines, set alerts, and document root causes.
