Job summary

exactcare is seeking a data engineer to design, maintain, and improve data systems that support pharmacy benefit management, analytics, reporting, and operations. The role combines data engineering, database development, application support, and problem-solving in a regulated environment.

You will work in an Agile team, optimize SQL/ETL, support claims data including NCPDP, and collaborate with product, cloud and infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive SQL Server development experience (SSIS/SSRS/SSMS/SSAS) and strong SQL.
• Experience in database design, normalization, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing.
• Familiarity with cloud DB services (Azure SQL DB or AWS RDS) and HA/throughput architectures.
• Strong problem solving and ability to work independently or in teams; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and deliver data solutions within Agile/Scrum.
• Maintain and enhance SQL/ETL procedures, reporting workflows, and .NET applications.
• Support pharmacy claims processes and data submissions (NCPDP related).
• Create technical specifications and evaluate feasibility, cost, schedule, and long-term maintainability.
• Monitor database performance with query tuning, indexing, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with product owners, engineers, stakeholders, and cloud teams; communicate risks and mentor colleagues.
