Job summary

Gear Partners is seeking a Data Engineer to act as the lead Technical Analyst for client implementations, focusing on data mapping, migrations, and loading from legacy systems to new databases.

You will collaborate with clients and the Business Analyst, design scalable data pipelines in Python, and drive data quality across the enterprise using SQL and data warehouse techniques. Remote-first, NC HQ.

Qualifications

• 3+ years proven experience writing complex SQL queries.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of relational database concepts.
• 2+ years proven experience with Python for data pipelines.
• 2+ years of extensive hands-on experience with designing, developing, and ongoing support of data warehouse environments.
• Independent and able to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
• Strong customer relations and ability to deliver business value with technical excellence.
• Ability to clearly communicate data, context, and implications to business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience with ATS/CRM software is a plus.
• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead stand-up with team to review product specifications, requirements and progress.
• Migrate data from client’s legacy database to the new system database.
• Develop and maintain SQL/T-SQL scripts.
• Deduplicate client data.
• Assist data warehouse team with schema changes for scalability and performance.
• Research and troubleshoot data inaccuracies and plan fixes.
• Work with clients and Business Analyst to review Data Migration Requirements.
• Perform data analysis.
• Champion a data-driven culture with controls to ensure consistent data usage.
