Crux, a capital platform for the clean economy, is seeking a Data Engineer to build the foundational datasets and pipelines for Market Intelligence in a fast-growing environment. You will own data ingestion, cleaning, joining, and scheduled refreshes to support research, publications, and client deliverables.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and maintaining production data pipelines in high-growth environments.
• Fluent in Python and SQL; able to write, test, and debug production code and complex queries.
• Proficient in cloud data warehousing, including schema design, incremental loading, query optimization, and cost management.
• Experience with extraction, transformation, loading, scheduling, and monitoring.
• Knowledge of data-quality practices: input validation, automated testing, monitoring, version control, reproducible outputs.
• Able to translate business or research needs into clearly scoped technical requirements and plans.
• Strong ability to communicate tradeoffs, status, data limitations, and delivery risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with AI-enabled tools supporting development, data analysis, testing, documentation, or automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the Market Intelligence data foundation and build pipelines for survey responses, pricing data, volume forecasts, and buyer participation.
• Automate our survey processes end to end to scale without manual cleanup.
• Get data to the reporting layer and into dashboards and publications without manual stitching.
• Turn recurring questions into repeatable queries as research scales.
• Firm up Crux's data practices with validation, documentation, version control, and reproducible outputs.
