Job summary

First Citizens is seeking a Data Engineer II to join its Data Platform Engineering Organization, building scalable cloud data pipelines and data products to drive analytics across the bank. You will work with AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python and SQL to design data warehouses, implement ETL/ELT processes, and ensure data quality, reliability, and performance in a modern data landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required with 2+ years in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, or related disciplines.
• Or High School Diploma or GED with 6+ years in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Cloud Data Platforms, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions using AWS, Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL.
• Implement data warehouse solutions, dimensional models, and ETL/ELT processes for reporting and analytics.
• Implement data quality validations, tests, and controls to ensure accurate, reliable data assets.
• Develop and maintain data tests, including dbt tests, for quality and reliability.
• Support workflow orchestration, monitoring, and production operations using Airflow and cloud-native tech.
• Collaborate with business users, product partners, analysts, and tech teams to deliver data solutions.
• Follow engineering standards, documentation requirements and testing procedures for high-quality delivery.
• Participate in pipeline deployments, environment promotions, and CI/CD processes.
