Job summary

Moda Health is seeking a Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines feeding the Enterprise Data Warehouse. You will support on-prem data workflows while contributing to cloud modernization with dbt and Snowflake.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience preferred.
• 1–5 years of experience with large datasets in relational databases and SQL-based analytics; SQL Server + cloud warehouses preferred.
• 1–5 years of SQL development: complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• 1–5 years building data pipelines using SSIS, SQL Agent, Azure Data Factory, Airflow; dbt exposure preferred.
• Experience supporting on-premises EDW and migrations to Snowflake/ cloud tech.
• Understanding of data management, relational structures, and data modeling; best practices for on-prem and cloud.
• Analytical skills for data-driven solutions; team guidance, Agile, and DevOps exposure.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools (SAS Enterprise Guide, Power BI, SSRS).
• Familiarity with Python, R, or Java; healthcare data preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines into the EDW from multiple sources.
• Automate and enhance data pipelines for reliability and scalability, supporting cloud modernization.
• Contribute to data platform modernization and migrations to cloud-based infrastructure.
• Develop data quality checks, validations, and monitoring for data accuracy.
• Build and support enterprise-grade data pipelines and models under guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data and reporting needs.
• Support Data Science with data solutions for advanced analytics and ML cases.
• Participate in EDW, BI, and related data-management initiatives; perform code reviews and document.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
