Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Database Engineer/Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions within the PSC development team. The role emphasizes ETL processes, reporting, and collaboration with analysts to meet business needs.

The position is a Work from Home opportunity that requires residing within 60 miles of an HCA hospital and may include off-hours support for outages; remote work with enterprise standards and benefits is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, CS, Engineering or related field; 3+ years IT experience.
• 3+ years BI apps experience (MicroStrategy, Power BI, Essbase, Arcplan, BO).
• 2+ years BI or data management experience.
• 2+ years optimizing large databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server).
• 2+ years data warehouse design, development and programming experience.
• 2+ years ETL design using Microsoft BI stack (SQL and SSIS) in data warehouse settings.
• BI tools certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, support, and maintain database and web applications.
• Design and develop data warehouse ETL processes and stored procedures.
• Design and develop reports from data warehouse.
• Document technical requirements with business users.
• Assist in developing prototypes/models and determine data sources.
• Follow standards when developing database components.
• Resolve data warehouse performance issues.
• Develop controls to mitigate operational and financial risks.
• Participate in database/application design sessions.
• Integrate new/existing software with the data warehouse.
• Participate in large-scale projects across multiple areas.
• Perform application monitoring and maintenance as needed.
• Provide off-hour support for outages.
