Job summary

Kentro is seeking a Data Engineer to support a modern data platform for a federal client. The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, data governance, and BI-ready datasets in a remote, US-based setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in enterprise data solutions, strong SQL/PySpark skills, and hands-on AWS Databricks/Snowflake experience, with a collaboration-focused, Agile mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data solutions utilizing cloud-based data solutions (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS).
• 5+ years experience with SQL and Python/PySpark.
• Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture.
• Experience in AWS cloud environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise data governance and data quality initiatives.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize notebooks, workflows, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines using PySpark, SQL, and Delta Lake.
• Support Lakehouse implementations and performance tuning.
• Assist with data governance and security best practices.
• Support MI/BI reporting initiatives and develop datasets for dashboards and analytics.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and document data flows.
