Job summary

The role requires 12+ years of experience, Databricks PySpark/SQL, strong SQL, and Power BI proficiency, with GitHub and JIRA experience. Collaboration with VA-related data and prior federal healthcare exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ yrs of experience
• Hands-on experience building data pipelines in Databricks (PySpark and/or SQL)
• Strong SQL skills, including complex joins and performance tuning
• Experience with Power BI, including semantic models
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and collaborative development
• Experience using JIRA or similar tools to track and manage work
• Strong client-facing communication
• Understanding of medallion (bronze/silver/gold) data architecture

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enriched datasets following medallion architecture in Databricks
• Develop, orchestrate, and monitor Databricks jobs and pipelines
• Write efficient SQL to transform and model healthcare data
• Prepare and optimize gold-layer datasets for Power BI semantic models
• Manage code and version control through GitHub with team review practices
• Log, track, and update work items in JIRA
• Collaborate with clients to understand requirements and data definitions
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and ensure accuracy across pipelines
• Document data lineage, transformation logic, and business rules
• Support Power BI developers and data scientists for downstream needs
