Job summary

General Dynamics IT seeks a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures in AWS GovCloud for mission-critical systems. You’ll lead data pipeline development, ETL processing, and data governance across diverse stakeholders, including data scientists and engineers.

The role requires 10+ years in data engineering, strong SQL and cloud skills, and a focus on secure, high-performance data solutions for Navy-related and government programs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience implementing data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience with PostreSQL and Oracle PL/SQL migration tasks.
• Proficiency in SQL and other query languages.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.
• Experience with cloud data services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience with RedShift, BI tools and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain data architectures and databases in AWS GovCloud.
• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and API integrations.
• Migrate data from on-premises databases to cloud-based solutions.
• Ensure ETL/ELT jobs are secure, efficient, and auditable.
• Collaborate with data scientists and architects to meet performance targets.
• Document data architecture and data governance processes.
• Support data delivery systems and transform data into insights.
