Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Critical Facilities Strategy Consultant for remote work with travel. You will serve as SME for data center operations, advising on electrical/mechanical systems, redundancy, and energy efficiency across national and global sites.

The role requires deep hands-on knowledge of data centers, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to present strategic guidance to owners, operators, and investors.

Qualifications

• 10+ years data center operational experience in hyperscale/enterprise facilities.
• Expertise interpreting electrical and mechanical one‑line drawings for mission critical spaces.
• Strong client-facing communication and project leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret facility electrical/ mechanical drawings from utility to data hall.
• Assess redundancy loading, MTBF/MTTR, and availability factors.
• Collect operational data from meters, UPS, PDUs, chillers, and control panels.
• Develop maintenance and risk mitigation plans for critical infrastructure.
• Present findings to C‑level and engineers; support design optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering/design teams on capacity expansion.
