Job summary

ArchKey Solutions is seeking a Preconstruction Director – Data Centers to lead and scale preconstruction activities for data center opportunities. This position can be based in a regional office or fully remote, offering strategic oversight of estimates, design assistance, engineering, and procurement for complex projects.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in electrical construction, strong leadership, and a proven track record in value analysis and high-cost commercial programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering/construction related field.
• 10+ years electrical construction estimating and preconstruction.
• 5+ years of direct people management.
• Experience with value analysis and large commercial projects.
• Knowledge of electrical code and contract reading.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises the preconstruction managers overseeing estimates, design assistance, engineering, scope development, constructability, scheduling, and procurement.
• Decides which projects to pursue based on capacity and growth opportunities.
• Ensures collaboration with design department on design/build and design/assist to optimize cost within budget.
• Manages workloads, risk assessments, and communication of standards of performance.
• Provides detailed value analyses and maintains confidential pricing information.
• Builds and maintains client and subcontractor relationships and leads business development.
