Job summary

ABB is seeking a Site Manager to lead onsite startup, testing, and commissioning of power delivery systems in data centers. You will coordinate with the Project Manager and contractors to ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence across North America.

Experience in electrical equipment field service and data center projects is essential. Strong leadership and planning skills are required to manage resources, documentation, and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electrical equipment field service, startup, testing, or commissioning, preferably with OEM-manufactured LV/MV/HV equipment.
• Experience supporting data center construction or mission-critical electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, electrical protection systems, and power distribution equipment.
• High school diploma required; advanced electrical or mechanical training preferred.
• Ability to travel 75% throughout North America, often for extended durations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead onsite operations in fast-paced, scheduled-driven environments.
• Familiarity with engineered solutions including modern digital protection systems and IEC 61850 environments preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead all onsite startup, testing, installation, and commissioning activities per scope and safety standards.
• Serve as primary onsite client representative and communicate progress, issues, and risks.
• Plan onsite activities, resources, and coordination with contractors and teams.
• Ensure HSE standards are implemented and safety plans maintained.
• Maintain field documentation, test reports, checklists, and drawings.
• Oversee subcontractors, ensuring scope, safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
• Monitor site costs and schedule progress; report to the Project Manager.
• Provide coaching and leadership to ABB field engineers and technicians.
