Job summary

Genworth seeks a Lead Data Architect, Modeler to design the structural blueprints for data systems, ensuring security, accessibility, and availability to meet business goals.

You will build enterprise data models, define domains, and enable consistent data designs across teams, with templates to accelerate delivery and governance alignment. This role requires strong collaboration across business and technical stakeholders and offers hybrid remote work with some in-office days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data science, mathematics, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in data modeling in a Lakehouse analytics environment.
• Proficiency in a data modeling tool such as ER Studio.
• Experience with big data technologies and platforms (DataBricks, Spark, AWS, Azure).
• Expert level in DDL and SQL development.
• Experience with data governance, quality frameworks, and metadata management.

Responsibilities

• Establish enterprise data models including an enterprise insurance data model followed by build/vendor partners.
• Define data domains and structures based on business requirements.
• Define and enable consistent data designs with decision trees for consistency.
• Define and design interoperability across data solutions including platforms, pipelines, models, governance, and cloud services.
• Align data governance interoperability with data stewards and metadata needs.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for BI, AI/ML, and ops use cases.
• Monitor and optimize data models for query performance and scalability.
