Qualifications

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Remote Data Analyst to join their dynamic team, focusing on optimizing mining operations from anywhere in the world. This fully remote position allows you to leverage your analytical expertise to interpret complex operational data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that drive efficiency and decision-making for our mining sites, including those in the Free State province. You will work closely with operational managers and geologists, transforming raw data into strategic recommendations, contributing significantly to the profitability and sustainability of our mining endeavors without the need for physical presence at a mine site.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to mining operations, production, equipment performance, and safety metrics.
• Develop dashboards and reports using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present key findings.
• Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational data to pinpoint areas for improvement.
• Collaborate remotely with mining engineers, geologists, and managers to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
• Develop predictive models to forecast production, identify potential risks, and optimize resource allocation.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all reporting and analysis activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience as a Data Analyst , preferably within the mining or heavy industry sector.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python or R for data manipulation and analysis.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and their application to business problems.
• Excellent communication skills for effective remote collaboration and presentation of findings.
