Placements24 is seeking a Geoscience Data Analyst to join a fully remote team supporting exploration and production decisions across multiple locations, including Welkom assets. You will process, analyze, and interpret large geoscience datasets, collaborating with geoscientists and engineers worldwide from your chosen location.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in oil and gas data analysis, strong Python/R skills, and experience with Petrel/Kingdom/OpendTect, SQL, and cloud data platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role within the oil and gas sector, focusing on geoscience data.
• Proficiency in geological and geophysical software packages (Petrel, Kingdom Suite, OpendTect).
• Strong programming skills in Python or R for data analysis and scripting.
• Experience with database management (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud-based data platforms.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for a remote work environment.

Responsibilities

• Process, validate, and manage large geological and geophysical datasets using specialized software.
• Perform data quality control and ensure the integrity of all incoming data streams.
• Develop and implement automated workflows for data processing and analysis.
