Job summary

LMI is seeking a Data Analyst to support VA modernization initiatives, using SQL and Python to acquire, prepare, validate, analyze, and automate data workflows. You will contribute to AI-enabled analyses, evaluation datasets, and performance measures under technical leadership.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's in a quantitative field, 5+ years in data analytics, and strong SQL/Python skills, with experience in AI-enabled workflows and data quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in data analytics, statistics, math, economics, OR equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant data analysis, BI, performance analysis, reporting, or operational analytics.
• Strong hands-on SQL and Python skills; able to write and validate queries/workflows.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI/ML or generative AI in analytical workflows.
• Experience preparing and validating multi-source data with joins, transformations, reconciliation, and traceability.
• Desire knowledge of descriptive statistics, trends, and proper interpretation of observational/AI-assisted analysis.
• Ability to translate questions into clear analytical requirements and robust approaches.
• Strong data-quality judgment and ability to communicate limitations and findings clearly.
• Maintaining reproducible analytical work with code, data dictionaries, and version control.
• Certification in Power BI, Azure AI, Databricks, Fabric, Tableau, or similar analytics credentials.

Responsibilities

• Support AI-enabled analytics and modernization use cases by preparing data and evaluating outputs.
• Use SQL and Python to extract, clean, transform, validate, analyze, and automate data across sources.
• Build and maintain evaluation datasets, test cases, and performance measures for AI capabilities.
• Profile data for availability, completeness, lineage, sensitivity, and fitness for use.
• Perform exploratory, descriptive, trend, cohort, segmentation, and variance analyses.
• Create analysis-ready datasets, tables, visualizations, dashboards, and decision-support outputs.
• Translate stakeholder questions into data requirements, metrics, filters, and validation checks.
• Support RAG, AI search, or knowledge-base use cases by assessing data quality and content gaps.
• Reconcile discrepancies across sources and determine source materiality of results.
• Automate repeatable data prep, quality checks, and reporting with reusable SQL/Python code.
• Collaborate with AI, data science, and engineering for advanced modeling or production pipelines.
• Perform QA and reasonableness checks before releasing findings.
• Document sources, queries, transformations, assumptions, and limitations for reproducibility.
• For Level IV, lead higher-complexity AI analyses and mentor analysts.
