Job summary

McBride Consulting seeks a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force Kessel Run division at Offutt AFB, NE, with potential remote work. The role focuses on RMF, DoD cybersecurity, and continuous monitoring across applications and networks.

You will coordinate with government and contractor teams to maintain secure systems and meet DoD requirements. Responsibilities include enforcing DoD cybersecurity policies, managing access control, and supporting A&A efforts.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required
• Secret level DoD clearance preferred or required
• 3+ years in DoD with cybersecurity focus
• STIG compliance and RMF experience
• Strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Carry out ISSO duties per DoDI 8510.01 and enforce Air Force cybersecurity policies
• Maintain required cybersecurity certifications and ensure user clearance/training
• Manage user access docs, accounts, ports/protocols, and ACLs
• Ensure compliance with DoD security configurations (STIGs) and manage configurations
• Identify and remediate security incidents, vulnerabilities, and risks
• Support RMF A&A activities with quality documentation
• Develop security documentation (SSP, PPPs, OPSEC plans, SRAs, CONOPS)
• Manage security updates, patches, and tracking for DoD requirements
• Conduct risk assessments, audits, and security evaluations
• Advise on security policies, disaster recovery, and risk-based strategies
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and integrate security into goals
• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve authorization under RMF
