Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer in Nebraska with a Secret clearance to support the DoD Kessel Run division. This full-time role located at Offutt AFB, NE offers remote work flexibility and a salary range of $145,000–$155,000 annually.

Responsibilities include enforcing Air Force cybersecurity policies, RMF/A&A support, and developing security documentation (SSPs, PPPs, OPSEC Plans). Strong communication and collaboration with government and contractors are essential.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance.
• Clearance: Secret level required and maintainable.
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• Carry out ISSO duties per DoDI 8510.01 and enforce Air Force cybersecurity policies.
• Maintain cybersecurity certifications and ensure users meet clearance, training, and access requirements.
• Manage user access, ports/protocols, and access control lists.
• Ensure compliance with DoD security configuration guidelines (STIGs/SRGs) and oversee CM activities.
• Identify, report, and coordinate remediation of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and risks.
• Support RMF Authorization & Accreditation activities with high-quality documentation.
• Develop security-focused documentation (SSPs, PPPs, OPSEC Plans, SRAs, CONOPS, analyses).
• Manage system security updates and patch/configuration tracking per DoD requirements.
• Conduct risk assessments, security audits, and evaluations for planned/operational systems.
• Recommend security policies, contingency plans, disaster recovery procedures, and risk-based strategies.
• Promote cybersecurity awareness and embed security in organizational goals.
• Collaborate with Government and commercial stakeholders to achieve authorization.
