CAI is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst Intern to join a structured internship program focused on security operations, vulnerability management, and incident response. This part-time, remote role offers hands-on experience in a simulated client environment and mentorship from experienced staff.

Applicants should be enrolled in or recently completed a cybersecurity/IT program, with strong analytical and reporting skills.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or recent completion of a cybersecurity-related program.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking concepts, operating systems, and security best practices.
• Strong written communication for professional reports and documentation.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• Ability to complete weekly assignments and deliverables on schedule.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud concepts.
• Experience with cybersecurity labs, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform asset inventory and establish a security baseline for a simulated client network.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and document findings, risks, and remediation recommendations.
• Analyze attack vectors and relevant cyber threats impacting the simulated client environment.
• Implement and document approved system-hardening activities in a controlled environment.
• Participate in incident response exercises and create detailed incident reports.
• Perform security operations activities including alert triage and monitoring-system tuning.
• Assist with governance, risk, and compliance initiatives, including drafting security policies and risk documentation.
• Develop and present a capstone security program summary for client leadership.
• Attend daily standups and complete weekly written deliverables.
• Incorporate feedback from Elysium Cyber staff into ongoing assignments.
• Work within an isolated AWS-based training environment accessed through a web browser.
• Collaborate with assigned mentors and technical staff to achieve weekly learning objectives.
