Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our security operations, delivering incident response and threat detection across on-premises and cloud environments. The role supports telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.

and requires 3+ years in cybersecurity along with cloud and SIEM/EDR experience. The position emphasizes collaboration across Privacy, Compliance, Legal and Architecture, mentoring junior analysts, and delivering detailed incident reports and security

Qualifications

• 3+ years in cybersecurity incident response or related areas.
• 3+ years with SIEM/EDR and asset isolation tools.
• 3+ years in cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• High School Diploma or GED; willingness to obtain information/cybersecurity certification within nine months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Critical severity security incident management.
• Monitor security intake technologies for reports of security incidents.
• Analyze cybersecurity alerts in On-Premises or Cloud environments.
• Collaborate, delegate tasks and drive deadline compliance in a regulated environment.
• Lead security, policy and privacy related events and incidents.
• Containment and remediation for assets, IOCs, and TTPs.
• Mentor analysts and provide training during complex incidents.
• Produce incident reports and security recommendations.
• Provide engineering consulting for new initiatives.
• Collaborate with Cyber Defense, Privacy, Compliance, Legal and Architecture teams.
• Review tools for alert fidelity and propose improvements.
• Identify deficiencies and propose security controls.
• Contribute to Lessons Learned Meetings.
• On-Call duties may be required.
