Job summary

LMI is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to own and coordinate cybersecurity compliance for an AWS-hosted Army application. This role drives remediation, manages vulnerability findings, scans, eMASS records, and RMF/ATO activities in collaboration with the ISSO and engineering teams.

The position is remote within the United States and requires an active Secret clearance with a strong background in Linux, AWS security, and risk management to support agile development and security posture.

Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• Five+ years of cybersecurity engineering or information assurance experience.
• Experience with eMASS, RMF, NIST SP 800-53, POA&Ms, and ATO support.
• Knowledge of Linux, AWS security, containers, and vulnerability assessment tools.
• Certification in a DoD 8140 work role or equivalent security certification.

Responsibilities

• Own the cyber compliance backlog and coordinate with the ISSO and government security stakeholders.
• Coordinate security scans (ACAS, application, dependency, and container) and review results.
• Triage CVEs, assess risk, assign remediation owners, track due dates, and verify closure.
• Maintain eMASS records, RMF artifacts, control evidence, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring documentation.
• Coordinate control evidence, assessment responses, and compliance milestones with the ISSO, engineering team, and platform/image owners.
• Provide technical guidance on secure configurations, patching, access controls, and vulnerability remediation across Linux, AWS, and container environments.
• Assess release security impacts, communicate residual risks and blockers, and integrate cyber requirements into agile planning and delivery.
