Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Crop Division is seeking a Claims Representative for Eastern Iowa. This role is fully remote within the territory and requires up to 40% travel to manage crop insurance claims and coverage responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have crop insurance claims experience and a background in agriculture, with duties including investigations, settlements, and maintaining detailed claim files.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience in agriculture, ag business/sales, agronomy, and/or grain merchandising.
• Crop Insurance experience is highly favorable.
• Ability to travel up to 40% within the territory.

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of crop related claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and to determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Determines and may negotiate appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Maintains accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.
