Job summary

Great American Crop Division in Eastern Iowa is seeking a Claims Representative to work fully remote within this territory, with up to 40% travel. Ideal candidates have crop insurance claims experience and knowledge of crop operations to assess coverage and liability.

You will manage a claims inventory, conduct investigations, may authorize payments, and maintain detailed files while communicating settlements to insureds and partners.

• Willing and able to travel up to 40%.
• Strong attention to detail in claim documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of crop related claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Conduct claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• May negotiate appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as needed.
• Convey routine to moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

This includes crop field work and knowledge of grain marketing.Determines and may negotiate appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority. May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.Conveys routine to moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.May authorize payments in accordance with assigned authority limit and ensure payments are made in a timely manner.Maintains accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.Performs other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsGenerally, a minimum of 6 months of experience in general agriculture, ag business/sales, agronomy, and/or grain merchandising.
