Job summary

Colorado Department of Revenue is seeking a Criminal Investigator III in the Liquor & Tobacco Enforcement Division. The role conducts liquor and tobacco investigations, inspections, undercover operations, and prosecutions while gathering evidence through interviews and surveillance.

The position requires a valid Colorado POST certification, at least six years of investigative experience, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

  • Six years of full-time professional investigative experience in a regulatory environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a listed field (or related) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct liquor, tobacco investigations, inspections, and undercover operations.
  • Interview witnesses, suspects, licensees, and the public to gather evidence.
  • Prepare investigative reports for criminal or administrative proceedings.
  • Testify in civil, criminal court and administrative hearings.
  • Coordinate operations and ensure adherence to policy and safety requirements.
  • Maintain required certifications and training for law enforcement duties.
