Job summary

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible law enforcement related experience.
• Valid Colorado Driver’s License with satisfactory driving record.
• POST certification in the State of Colorado.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal laws; county geography and road networks.
• Knowledge of first aid and medical procedures.
• Knowledge of law enforcement vehicles and related equipment.
• Ability to make timely decisions under stressful situations.
• Ability to communicate clearly in person, in writing and over the radio.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate major crimes and supervise law enforcement activities.
• Conduct follow-up investigations and prepare detailed reports.
• Assist the Detective Sergeant in all phases of investigations.
• Recover property, maintain investigative records and files.
• Perform surveillance in civilian clothing and conduct undercover operations as needed.
• Coordinate with other investigators and agencies to support investigations.
• Liaise with law enforcement agencies and provide on-the-job training to junior staff.
• Review investigations and recommend improvements as necessary.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by a supervisor.
