Advance Maryland is seeking a Creative Communications Associate to support digital communications, graphic design, video production, social media management, and campaign outreach.

Within a four‑person team you will create engaging content, manage platforms, develop email campaigns, and coordinate with partner organizations; a portfolio demonstrating design and video skills is essential.

The role is remote with Maryland residency required; occasional travel to Baltimore or Annapolis may be needed.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of professional communications experience, preferably in advocacy, nonprofit, political, or campaign settings.
• A portfolio demonstrating graphic design and video production skills.
• Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong writing skills for digital and social media audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadlines.
• Commitment to racial, economic, and social justice.
• Interest in progressive policy and politics.
• A valid driver’s licence or the ability to travel independently throughout Maryland.

Responsabilités

• Design graphics, social media content, campaign materials, and partner toolkits using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Produce short-form videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
• Manage content calendars and publish content across social media platforms.
• Develop email campaigns, newsletters, and website updates.
• Monitor social media trends, engagement, and campaign performance.
• Support partner organizations and coalitions with communications planning and content production.
• Coordinate event materials, presentations, reports, and printed communications.
• Track digital campaign analytics and support paid social media initiatives.
• Ensure content meets accessibility standards, including captioning, alt text, color contrast, and plain-language guidelines.
