Qualifications

• Physician coding experience required; strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding.
• Familiarity with E/M coding, outpatient procedures, and minor office procedures preferred.
• CPC or equivalent certification required; specialty certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Apply evaluation and management (E/M) codes across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty-specific testing and procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Follow established coding guidelines and applicable state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance to support appropriate physician billing and reimbursement.
• Identify coding discrepancies and documentation issues in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and specialty-specific coding practices.
