Job summary

Baptist Health is hiring a Coding Specialist, Physician Coding to join our Physician Billing Office team at Baptist Jacksonville in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time day shift remote opportunity, with eligibility to work from approved states.

The role focuses on reviewing clinical documentation, applying ICD-10 and CPT-4 codes for E/M, office procedures, and minor surgeries, ensuring accurate reimbursement and compliance with coding guidelines.

Qualifications

• Physician coding experience required.
• Experience with E/M coding, outpatient procedures and minor office procedures preferred.
• Must have CPC or equivalent certification; specialty certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Apply E/M codes across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty testing and minor surgeries.
• Follow established coding guidelines and state/federal regulations.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance to support physician billing and reimbursement.
• Identify coding discrepancies and documentation issues and resolve them.
