Job summary

The instructor will facilitate weekly discussions, adhere to grading timelines, and respond to student inquiries promptly while modeling the university’s values and doctrinal commitments.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in Counselor Education.
• Independent licensure in counseling or a closely related field (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCPC) OR Master’s in degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or related counseling degree.
• 5 years work experience as an Independent Licensed Counselor.
• Maintain an active membership in a recognized counseling association.
• Show evidence of experience in one or more of the following areas: counseling advocacy; research or other scholarly work; at least two years of clinical practice; or counselor education.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate weekly main discussion forums to engage students in the online classroom
• Adhere to weekly grading requirements, deadlines, and timeframes
• Respond to students’ questions and emails within the established timeframes
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
